    The importance of sub-class?

Hello! I have a few basic questions that I can't find a quick answer to.

Upon character creation, you choose marksman or nature, and this dictates your starting gear. Does this dictate anything else? For instance, I started as marksman and later decided that I like nature skills, so I started using nature EQ and put my talent points there. Quests seem to just give a mix of nature/marksman gear (no favoritism for the initial pick).

However, every time I've traded in for elder gear, I've gotten marksman stuff. Is that just bad luck on my part, or is elder gear tied to the initial sub-class selection?

And -- if anything is tied to that initial sub-class selection, is there any way to change it? I just rebirthed, thinking I'd get to re-pick things, but that didn't happen...

Help ease my troubled mind, please

At low level, there only is one type of elder gear. Only after level 55 do you get two weapons corresponding to the two specialities.

The initial choice only affects your original starting gear. On rebirth, you have a 50-50 chance to get either Marksman or Nature gear.
If at first you do succeed - try not to look surprised!

Find me in game as Majenta EU1

It only determines your starting gear, nothing else. You can switch up your build with no penalties whatsoever - just remember to target your gear for whatever kind of talents/abilities you are focusing on.

Just bad luck! That said, note that some "Marksman" gear is actually equally usable even if you're focusing on Nature talents/abilities, it depends a bit on what kind of item it is.

Thanks for the answers! I feel much better knowing the starting choice isn't affecting anything. Back to the game
